What is missing

What is the yellow neuron when it says missing?

Hi 6tw,

First, welcome to Eyewire  Second, thanks for posting! I am assuming you are talking about the “Review” mode that shows up after you submit a cube in Eyewire.

Review mode compares your trace against any traces submitted by other players for that cube. It is not the final solution to the cube.

Here are the breakdown of colors:

  • Red :red_square: aka “Incorrect” means that you added that segment, but other players did not add it in their submitted trace.

  • Yellow :yellow_square: aka “Missing” means that the segment was added by other players, but you did not add it in your submitted trace.

  • Green :green_square: aka “Correct” means that you and other players all agreed on adding to those segments

  • Blue :blue_square: aka “Seed” is the starting segments in a cube provided by Eyewire

Eyewire is a consensus-based game so the final trace for a cube may change from what is shown in review mode when you submit your cube. Since multiple players submit a trace (or “solution”) for each cube, review mode shows how your trace matches up with the traces from those other players. The review mode can update when additional players play the cube or an advanced player like a scythe or an admin edits the cube. If you receive low accuracy or disagree with the review mode, you can use the activity tracker (the colored bars in the upper right next to your username) to keep track of that cube. The activity tracker will update your accuracy to reflect any changes made to the cube after you’ve played it. You can read more about the activity tracker (and a little about review mode too) here: The Eyewire Activity Tracker

I hope this helps explain things! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask in chat, post here, or email us at support @ eyewire.org.

Cheers,
M.
