There seem to be some cubes (ones with lots of colored volume), that just make my computer crawl. Any one else have this problem?
Hey asd123,
It’s a known problem, and one we’ve tried to avoid but sometimes cannot. Basically the closer a cube is to the cell body of a neuron, the thicker the dendrites tend to be. Sometimes it’s so close to the cell body you actually end up tracing… the cell body! Because these pieces are so large, the 3d meshes that are rendered are more complex than usual, and WebGL (what we’re using to render the 3d images) can slow down quite a bit.
Once the cubes begin to move away from the cell bodies this problem tends to subside, but there are occasionally a few cubes which exhibit the behavior you described. If they make it too slow for you, please go ahead and skip them to move on.
