Am I the only one still getting 0 points?
I get em every once in a while too, but I just figure I screwed up horribly and move on to the next one haha.
Sneakybaron, I’m with you, same thing happens and I just move on. The software “bugs” like laurie bersig reported above are affectations of the assumptions behind the programming. This “bug” also produced the “merge” cell phenomena where two separate pathways are connected at our startup on a cell. Programming the assumptions for this game is very difficult, it’s not just about the programming, it’s about knowing what can go wrong in the output before attempting to program for what is desired to go right. (I did industrial programming and know this lesson.) The cross section micro slices of biological material are very difficult to work with, it’s a miracle that the MIT team had the tenacity to produced this web site despite everything that can go wrong. It’s incredible that the game works as well as it does and a credit to their programming. A lot of the success of this site depends on the clarity of the images produced by the Max Plank people who have done a superb job in sample prep and slicing. Every once and a while you see preparation errors in the images, but so few errors that I am blown away by the MP effort to produce this magnitude of effort making a gazillion slices on the part of MIT. I could say more, but, hey, take my zero and move on. LOL!
Thanks for the support Marty. That having been said, we’ll keep on trying to track down and fix all those pesky little bugs!
