When I go to the sign in page and sign in the system dumps me to the overview display and taunts me to play by saying “sign in to play” and there of course on the sidebar is the sign in or register buttons. But I have already signed in. And signing in again just does the same thing. So basically I can’t play but I do get to look at the pretty pictures. Have I overlooked something here?
Ah, well I found it. It would help it the sign in button on the right said something like click to play, as the button the comes up after you hit sign in, then sign in (again, that’s going to get old in a hurry) and then click start playing. It’s what I would classify as a little clunky and unintuitive.
Additionally, unless someone’s changed it, the login box on Chrome doesn’t seem to remember username / password since the change in the title page… The username is in a box, but the password is forgotten. Remember Me does nothing.
Turing, I’m not sure I completely understand what’s going on, but it sounds like the overview page isn’t detecting you’re logged in. I just pushed a minor change, when you get a chance can you see if it resolves the issue? When you are logged in, the overview page is supposed to have a button in the top right corner which says “start playing”.
Backupelk, that’s definitely a bug. I will try to fix it this afternoon.
@echo, it still makes me log in twice. Or maybe this is the issue. Are the forum and the game interface not actually connected to each other? (Notice that there is no convenient way to go from the forum to the game as of yet.) Also, once logged in the overview page does seem to do the right thing. I think my issue is that the forum and the game are not actually aware that one is logged in to the other or vice verse.
The two are related fairly closely, but it’s not a totally tight coupling. When you are logged into play.eyewire.org and you visit the forum, it automatically logs you into the forum. At the moment, if you try to sign out from the forum, it signs you out of the forum, but if you are still signed into play, then it auto signs you into the forum again. I’m trying to get it to sign you out of play as well so that it breaks that loop. The forum is also a little confusing in that it has a sign in dialog for itself, but instead, you need to click on the “Sign in with Eyewire” button. All bumps that I’m trying to work out. The easiest, most straightforward way to use the forum at the moment is to go to play.eyewire.org whenever you want to sign in and sign out.
Not sure if any of that is related to the issues that you are having. Just weird stuff about the forum at the moment.
