For MOSTEC, we are required to play this game, and I actually enjoy playing it. However, the cube on my left-hand side does not load all of the blue. Throughout the slides, I see the blue, but it is not displayed on the cube. Is this just me, or is this supposed to happen? It makes the task very hard and almost impossible to accomplish with certainty.
+1 I was wondering if that was just the nature of our amacrine cell. Glad I’m not alone.
So, I’m guessing you’re not the webmaster? I am new here, and I do not know the proper place to ask a question.
No. The webmasters/administrators/moderators/distinguished people will have a fancy signature at the bottom of their posts.
Hi guys, thanks for letting us know you’ve got a problem. Just to clarify, you’re seeing the blue part of the cell in the 2D, but not in the 3D cube?
Also, feel free to post screen shots of problems you’re having, it can really help us to figure out what’s going on.
And yup, this is the perfect place to let us know there’s a problem.
Gah. Can’t get into a task to screen shot for now. But I’ll try to describe what I’m seeing.
Hmm weird, how big of a chunk is this that’s missing? Is it a sliver or a big thing? Also I’m passing along word of this to one of the programers so he can look into this.
In my 3d view, I see the ends of the blue sections, but they have very sharp edges. Between the two, there is a giant piece missing, even though the blue comes up on the 2d view. As I put in more light blue, only parts of it will come up on the 3d. Right now, “there are no more tasks available”, so I will have to try again later.
Hey, so I talked to one of the programmers, he said the issue is because you guys are still close to the cell body, and thus the meshes are too big for EyeWire to quite handle. The problem should abate once you’ve gotten a bit further from the cell body.
@Chad, you did a whole load of tasks yesterday, right? To ensure accuracy each task is done by several different people, then everyone’s results are compared and the computer spits out the correct answer. After that the computer takes that answer and looks for new tasks that would be connected to the cubes you guys have already done. What it means when you’re out of tasks is that you’re doing the tasks more quickly than the other students. As more of the MOSTEC class get online and start contributing you should have more tasks available (hopefully soon).
I have seen the same happen on other cells as well, but it still works ok using only the 2d view most of the times
I have no issue in Safari or FireFox at work, but neither shows me 3D at home, on an older Mac running 10.6
Hey @Blissdish, you don’t see the 3d for any cube, or just some? The 2d is working correctly?
