Congratulations on 10,000 cells!

Congratulations on completing 10,000 cells in Eyewire II! I made some graphics to visualize the amazing progress!

Here is an animation celebrating your contributions: https://youtu.be/nzNokdKlVPI

Every dot is one cell, drawn at the position of its soma in the electron microscopy volume. Cells light up on the day a player finished checking them, from the first on April 30th, 2026 to the 10,081st on October 3. 10k cells in just 154 days! When the 10,000th cell lands, a wave crosses the field.

For science!

This is great! 10k super nova exploding lol (I know they’re not but they do kinda look like it lol)

What software did you use for the anim. and/or vid. edit?

Thanks! I made it with Claude, but I think chatGPT can also do it. They can use Blender! I put up a render guide page here: https://amyleesterling.github.io/render/examples/

Following up with this new animation that shows ~1,000 bipolar cells colored first by type and next by the citizen scientist who mapped them!

AMAZING. I’ve barely been a part of this particular journey but I’m so proud of all the hard work and progress you’ve done!
