I just got a terrifying thought. I was trying to follow a branch, seeing where it connected to the cell body, which seemed impossible. I found several really small connections here and there, which made me worry. I got the impression it was one long branch curling through the other branches, but didn’t seem ‘connected’ to it in any way.
What really worried me though is the following screenshot:
Why do the cells stop there so abruptly, and why are they still so thick? This screenshot is taken with the cell upside down, as depicted in the following screenshot which is a bit zoomed out.
This seems like dendrites coming in the opposite direction from the dendrites from the neuron we are tracing.
