No Image

I’m wondering if this fix has caused some other difficulties. I just logged in (thrilled to see some new images for me to work on) but the 2D images are having some loading difficulties. The 3D will fully load, and the 2D remains the checkerboard. Then one quarter of the image will appear, and then another. If I happen to have pressed an up or down arrow it seems to not continue to load and I’m left with quarters of checkerboard.   I’m on  Mac OS X (Mountain Lion) in Chrome btw.   Whatever is happening is inconsistent, if that helps.

A little update on what I wrote.  So I was able to work on about 10 images before they ran out again. In that time, the 2D image would load properly (in quarterly chunks) as long as I didn’t touch anything else. Otherwise it seemed to error and not load completely.

I like the new colour options.

Separate issue @smalljude, I’m still working on both at the moment.

I’m glad you’re still working on this issue.  I was finally getting the hang of the game and I’m anxious to continue.
Thanks.
Susan

@susan2012

Let me know if anything has changed now. If you could try Chrome as well as Firefox I would be grateful.

Thanks Mark :)

I just ran into this issue this evening.

Mark, let me know what info you need from me?

I can not change the opacity panel of EM image on the right side of the screen. The image is very clear so is difficult to follow the contours of the neuron.
I can only change the opacity panel
of EM image  on the cube
in 3D.

Any suggestions?
BTW I’m using Chrome and Windows XP

Ciao
Mario

Hey Alyssa,

If you can try using the site again, let me know what exactly isn’t working at this point. Do you see any colors in the 2d view? Are you able to paint anything?

Thanks!

Hi Mark:
I see this discussion has grown. For me, the 3D side looks fine but there is no image at all on the 2D side.
Susan

Hi Susan,

I’ve pushed yet another change. I was able to reproduce the no-image bug this morning on a windows laptop with intel integrated graphics. Here’s hoping you have more luck this time…

Keep me posted

@Smalljude

I believe the bug keeping tiles from loading properly is fixed in the new version. If you’re able to reproduce it again please let me know.

Thanks a bunch  :)  I have run out of images to work on, so as soon as there are more I’ll give it whirl. You’re working really quickly on fixing all the bugs - yay you!

Mark: It looks like it’s working!  I played with one and everything worked as I expected.  I can’t spend time on it right now, but I will later.  So far so good.  Thanks for all time you have you have spent on fixing this.
Susan

Fantastic. I’m glad we got it resolved.

See you in game!

Hi, Mark. Today I’m getting no image at all. No 3D, no slices. Both safari and FireFox. Have quit, logged out and back in…

I get the ganglion preview, but only blank gray after hitting "play: :frowning:

Hey @blissdish,

Have you tried playing at all in the past week? I’m curious if the issue is because of web-gl accelerated 2d, or whether it just materialized yesterday/today.

At the moment Safari is sort of unsupported… I’m working on it but it looks like it will take a fair amount of work to get it working again.

Have you tried Chrome?

If you know how, could you check the developer console for errors? ( I can walk you through it if you tell me what operating system you’re using )

Still not working at all in firefox 14.0.1 on linux x86_64 , just blank panes.
I get loads of errors in the dev console .
here’s just a flavour :-

Hey @Richardk,

Firstly can you try changing the firefox webgl preference to “prefer native gl” (go to about:config, search for webgl). We’ve had issues with ff in the past because of that.

If that doesn’t fix the issue, can you try disabling the error console output from everything except “JS” (there are little buttons at the top to disable Net, CSS, etc). The errors that remain would be more helpful.

Thanks!
