I just want to let you know for now that HQ has seen your question but we can’t explain solutions to Evil Cubes in the forum until the competition event is over. 
If you still are wondering about it after Thursday, please let us know, otherwise we can discuss it privately beforehand.
(Also, the GMs are aware that this is the first time people have been able to immediately check how they did at Evil Cubes using Review Mode. We are still working out how this affects our anti-cheating protocols, so please bear with us! Thanks everyone.)
